Managing Director / HUB Retirement and Wealth Management
Steven is the first born in a family with two younger siblings. While his father worked as an executive for Westinghouse Electric, professional advancement led to frequent relocations; stops in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and ultimately Winter Park, Florida (where he attended high school) helped to shape a childhood experience that afforded great life lessons in adaptability.
After graduating from Auburn University, Steven started an investment career working in municipal finance for PaineWebber (now UBS) in Orlando, Florida. He completed his MBA at Rollins College in 1995 and relocated to Nashville, where his career focused on working with institutional investment managers. Using that experience, he naturally transitioned to consulting with the end users of those managers’ services, helping Defined Benefit Pension and Endowment funds evaluate managers and develop investment allocation strategies.
By the late 1990’s the proliferation of 401(k) plans created a shift in focus for his team, and a new market emerged for his skills; individuals that had worked in their capacity as trustees for these plans, either as “C” level executives or business owners began inquiring about investment and planning services for individual families, giving rise to the wealth management services component of what is now the Hub RPW team in Nashville.
Steven has lived in Franklin, TN, since 1998 with his wife and two children, Carson and Campbell. His son Carson is enlisted in the Marines, and Campbell has recently completed her degree in Professional Flight at Auburn University. Steven’s wife, Teresa, has been a flight attendant with Delta Air Lines for over 30 years, which has given the family a chance to see much of the world together. When not working on behalf of his team and clients, Steven enjoys playing golf, reading, martial arts, and occasionally playing the guitar. He is currently active as a board member with Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and is President of the Nashville Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute.
